The in-app guide never prints a single error sentence for a refused character file, so this page does not invent an “Error 0x” line. It orders the causes that the share rules and the v1.19.0 notes actually explain, from the file you saved to the build you are running.
Try these in order
- Google Drive sometimes saves a zip. Extract it until you can see the .cvclk, then drag that file.
- A .cvpart is only parts. It will not fill the character import box. A character file is the one ending in .cvclk.
- Pictures inside a file you received are locked to the original computer and the original user. Another PC, or another Windows account, will not open those pictures. The file is not corrupt.
- A file exported by a newer build can be ahead of an old app. Update to Windows v1.19.0 or the current Mac beta, then try again.
- v1.19.0 states that older files do import. “This file is old” is the wrong explanation once you are on that build.
- Move the file to the desktop and drag from there. On a Mac, allow the app to read files if the system asks.
If it still fails, build the report archive from Reactions and send the developer’s form with the file name and the link you got it from. There is no public log path to paste.
Questions
The same file opens on my friend’s PC. Why not mine?
Received pictures lock to one device and one account. Their copy is not a portable license.
Should I rename a .cvpart to .cvclk?
No. They are different packages. Renaming does not add the missing character pictures.
