Characters, settings, and lines are not inside the exe. They sit in a data folder that has to stay next to the program on Windows, and in a Library folder on Mac. Moving the program without that folder is the usual way a desktop full of pets turns into an empty tray icon.
Windows
Look beside BUG-Clicker.exe for a folder named BUG Clicker 데이터. The Korean word means “data”. The Windows README and the in-app guide both use that name. Settings, Customize, Open folder, opens it. If you relocate the exe to another disk, move the folder with it in the same step.
Mac
The path is ~/Library/Application Support/BUG Clicker. Finder, Go, Go to Folder, then paste the path. The Library folder is hidden in a normal Finder window, which is why the Go menu is the reliable door.
Copy, and the lock that blocks a copy
Copying the whole folder is a reasonable backup: put it back in the same place to restore. That sentence is my reading of “the files live here,” not a backup wizard the developer documented. Received character images are locked to one device and one user, so the same copy will not open those images on a second computer. A reset, if you want a clean start, is to rename or remove the folder. There is no reset button described in the guide. The next launch creates a fresh folder and an empty set of characters.
Questions
I moved the exe and my characters vanished. Where are they?
Still in the old folder next to the old location of the exe. Move that folder so it sits beside the exe again.
Can I sync the folder with cloud storage?
Nothing in the public guide discusses cloud sync. The device lock on received images means a synced copy is not a way to share those images.
