Idle speech is the bubble that shows up after the pet has been ignored for a while. It is not the line that plays when you click, and it is not a reminder. The guide does not publish how many seconds “a while” is, so I will not invent a timer. What follows is the checklist from the idle-interval chapter.
- In the editor, open actions and find the idle control. If it says off, nothing later on this list can talk.
- The five names are off, often, normal, sometimes, and rarely. Set often, then leave the pet idle before changing another setting.
- Click lines do not count as idle lines. If the idle box is empty, the app falls back to its default sentence. If that default was cleared too, there is nothing left to show.
- A hidden bubble looks exactly like silence. The bubble display switch has to be on, or the line is “said” where you cannot see it.
- A character you received could not change this interval on older builds. From v1.19.0 the control sits at the lower left of the Line Editor even on a locked character.
- Medicine, water, and to-do prompts are a second system. They are muted out of the box and draw a small icon over the head instead of speaking.
A click that makes no noise is the effect list under reactions, not this page. People mix the two because both are quiet.
Questions
How long should I wait on “often”?
The guide names the five steps and does not give seconds. No exact interval is published, so the page does not assign one.
My reminders are silent. Is that the same bug?
No. Reminder audio ships muted. Turn it on in the reminder settings. Idle speech is the other control.
