Edit click lines, idle lines, and reminders

Lines live in the Line Editor. One screen holds click lines, idle lines, and special lines, and the stage on the left previews the bubble as you type. Press Enter for a new line inside one bubble. The play control speaks the line back.

Two sentences from one row

Write a double slash to cut a row into two spoken beats: Ouch! // Just kidding. The character says the first half, then the second. A URL that already contains // is not cut, which is the exception the guide calls out. I am not publishing a full list of the default lines, because the public text only shows examples.

How often it talks while idle

Idle frequency is under actions, with five steps: off, often, normal, sometimes, rarely. Since Windows v1.19.0, a character you received can have this set too, from the lower left of the Line Editor. Before that, the control was only on characters you made.

Reminders and bubble look

Reminders, medicine, water, and to-dos each have a line for the moment they fire and a line for the moment you complete them. Leave a box empty and the default line is used. The bubble itself has a shape list (box, hand-drawn, pixel, subtitle, plus thought, sparkle, dark, and shout), a color, a font that can be a system font or a ttf you add, a size, an entrance, a text effect, and a speed. A look can be saved and then picked per line. If motion is too much, Settings, Customize, reduce motion.

Questions

Why does my pet stay quiet?

The idle rate may be off, or the character is a received file on a build that cannot edit that rate yet. The fix page walks through those cases.

Can each line look different?

Yes. Save a bubble style, then assign it to one line.
