Capture BUG Clicker in OBS

The developer does not publish an OBS tutorial. What they do publish is a broadcast background: the window behind the character becomes one flat color, green unless you change it, and the character stays. The developer site lists that color control as a feature. The steps below combine that background feature with OBS Studio’s documented Chroma Key filter.

Turn the background into a key color

  1. In BUG Clicker, enable the broadcast background and note the color.
  2. In OBS, add a Window Capture and pick the BUG Clicker window.
  3. On that source, add a Chroma Key filter. Sample the broadcast color.
  4. Adjust similarity until the flat color disappears while the character’s outline stays; the appropriate setting depends on the chosen color and artwork.

A still or a GIF without OBS

Right-click the character, Capture mode, then shoot. The tray has the same capture entry. You click the character you want, and a 3-second countdown runs. PNG export keeps a transparent background. GIF export can be transparent too. Since the 14 October 2026 notes, GIF long edge is up to 1280 pixels and the rate is up to 40 frames per second.

If the chroma key eats pale hair or a white prop, change the broadcast color to something that color is not, then sample again. That adjustment is part of the recipe, not a documented official step.

The broadcast background is a flat color behind the pet so a key filter can remove it.

Questions

Does the developer support a particular OBS version?

No version is named. The supported piece is the solid background color inside BUG Clicker.

Why is my PNG not transparent?

Use the in-app capture, which the guide says writes a transparent PNG. A normal screenshot of the desktop will include whatever is behind the pet.
