BUG Clicker versus DeskPal

DeskPal in this comparison is the Microsoft Store app by RampagingRam, product id 9N85K7L5TKJB. NeeNee Deskpals on Steam is a different game with a similar name. If you meant the Steam one, this page is the wrong column.

The Store listing describes an AI pet on a Windows PC with an optional Android phone for its face, microphone and speaker. Without a phone, the PC dashboard can handle the conversation. An avatar editor provides ears, horns, eyewear and backgrounds. Tools include timers, alarms, reminders, notes and a to-do list. The listing marks the app Free and says beta extras are unlocked for now. Its Windows x64 listing was last updated on 23 October 2026; that is a Store update date, not a BUG Clicker release date.

Choose the conversation backend

DeskPal supports LM Studio or Claude Code. The publisher README names gemma4-e4b-instruct-pure as its default LM Studio model, rather than one fixed model for every setup. The privacy policy says a conversation stays on the PC when LM Studio runs there, goes to the selected server when LM Studio is elsewhere, and goes to Anthropic when Claude Code is selected. The statement that DeskPal has no server of its own does not mean every backend stays offline.

What BUG Clicker asks for instead

No second device. A 2D character you draw or import. Lines written by a person in the Line Editor, not a generated conversation. Windows and Mac. Free, with no ads, in the developer’s words. Reminders exist here too, but they are timed bubbles you write, not a dictated to-do list tied to a phone.

Pick DeskPal if you want an AI conversation and its reminder tools, with an optional phone display. Pick BUG Clicker if you want a drawn character and a Mac build. They are not substitutes for each other’s files.
